"My mom was a very beautiful person. This fact did not let me grew with her. I was not able to know my mom. Unfortunatedly I have to live under these circunstances. The Truth for this case has been abscent and nothing will give back me these years with her. There is only corruption and individual interests between the calims for justice. The case of full of lies and currently, in more than two decades after we as victims are still demanding for at least get to know the missing persons whereabouts.. I hope this tragedy, the life of the innocents decesased in the Siege and specially my mothers life were not took in vain. When a person is directly affected from a fact as this one you are able to realize how heartless political interests can be. What I really ask for is to at least know what happenned with her. The colombian society is being misslead because they are showing the militants as victims according to defending the Palace form the Siege but that is not truth. It is a distortion of the reality. The sentences has been given due to forced disappareance crimes. My mom and other persons exit the Palace alive and they were totrured, murdered and disapparead. This is so brutal that I tell you how can a person with this history can be free in the society dealing with other people. Condemned militars are not in prisons as the sentences established. They are in the military garrisons, they are in the impunity that so many government had let for this case. I just want to share with the society this, nothing is going to give me back my mom but probably my mission is to help you open the eyes, that this things happen and that it can happen to anyone and if we don´t learn our lessons, then we will be condemned to repeat and suffer and horrors from facts as the Palace of Justice Siege and the irregularities of the assault. I just wish justice. I don´t know how to measure the punishments for the direct responsables but I hope someday the State will have the will to give us that truth. I love you with all my heart mom" Juan Francisco Lanao A.
