Graduated in Social Sciences. She was the temporal cashier of the Palace of Justice´s Cafeteria.  According to press releases and videos, she exit the Palace after the Siege alive in hands of the Army forces.  Her brother, René Guarín is in a tireless battle for knowing the whereabouts of her.  Her father, José Guarín, was deceased without ever knowing what happened to Cristina.  René still keeps files with more than 300 poems his father wrote to Cristina expressing the suffer and pain for his daughter´s disappearance.

Her body was found the the 23rd of October 2015, 30 years later in a private cementery of the north of Bogotá. She was in the cementery "Jardines de Paz"  where it supposedly was the victim Maria Isabel Ferrer, ocassionally visitor of the Palace of Justice.  This body was given to the Velazquez Ferrer family in 1985 but after three decades the status of the victim María Isabel Ferrer passes from a deceased to disappeared.  Aditionally there was a lack of humanity in the proceedings of notification, since the Velazquz Ferrer family was notified about the finding of Cristina Guarin and the disappearence of their love one by online newspapers. They were not even notified that the body of their loved-one was being exhumated.

The body of Cristina Guarin is almost entire and currently it is in international oversight in order to corroborate her indentity. Her brother René Guarin, recieved the body of Cristina with a piece of the skirt that she was using the day of the event and that was discussed for so many years as part of the  proves that Cristina came out alive after the Siege and the Assault of the Palace of Justicie. On 1985, also Maria Nelfy Dias, a person in the service of the elevator of the palace, declared that she is person in the video with the skirt but it has to be taking into account that this was a strong prove against the military members involved in crimes against humanity that happenned after the events.
