GLORIA ANZOLA DE LANAO
Nephew of the Council Magistrate Ayde Anzola. Gloria worked as a lawyer and had a one year old son. She was also professor of several universities at Bogota. The day of the events she took her son to the nursery and the went to her office. She used to parked her car in the Palace of Justice on the parking lot of her aunt. After the event, the car was within with the ruins of the Edification with the chair of his little son. Still there is no reason about her whereabouts.
The following space is dedicated to the families and persons affected from this case. This is a jointly construction process of Memory construction. We try to fill the absence through pictures, letters and other memories provided directly from the victims or affected ones in order to not let extinguish the memory of the victims.
"My mom was a very beautiful person. This violent fact did not let me grew with her. I was one year and eight months old and due to this II was not able to live the love of my mom. Unfortunatedly I have to live under these circunstances. The Truth for this case has been abscent and nothing will give back me these years I should had spent with her. There is corruption and individual interests between the claims for justice. The case has been managed with irregularities and now it has been three decades of victims that are still demanding to get to know at least the truth about the whereabouts of their loved ones. I hope that with this tragedy, that took almost a hundred of innocents decesased during the Siege and the Assault will not remained ignored the way it has been. When a person is directly affected from with a fact as this, you are able to realize how heartless political interests can be. What I really ask for is to at least know what happenned with her. The colombian society is being misslead because the lack ofjustice showns militants that have been condemned for forced disappearence as victims, supporting on a supposed defendance for democracy and the institutions but justice starts to show that the irregularities were truth and that there was a wrong usage of force by the army where many crimes were committed. There are sentences given due to forced disappareance crimes but there is no absolute obidience for these. My mom and other persons who exit from the Palace alive were then took to military garrisons where they weere totrured, murdered and disapparead. This is so brutal that I ask myself how is it possible that a person that commited a crime with an innocent mother this way can be free as there was not crime around sociecity. Condemned militars are not in prisons as the sentences established. They are in the military garrisons, with lots of priviledges. The impunity has been let event by the top spheres of the gouvernment. I just want to share with the society that this cannot happen again., Nothing will bring me back my mom but hopefuly my mission is to help society open the eyes, so that this things cannot happen again to anyone and to reamin for so much time on impunity. If we don´t learn the lessons derived from our history, then we will be condemned to repeat and suffer the same horrors from facts as the Palace of Justice Siege and the irregularities of the assault. I just demand for truth and justice.For me it is so very hard to balance the measures of a sentence with something you cannot get back.
