Eduardo Umaña was the first lawyer who helped the families of the missing persons of the Palace of Justice Siege. He was also a reknown Human Right´s Defendant and one of the best lawyers Colombia had. On April 1995, he was murdered in his office by a woman and two men who entered to his office. His assistant was tied up while the crime was committed. She declared that these persons had visited the advocate one week before. His wife, son, assistant and two students that were making the internships in his office, had to exit the country exiled because of violent threats.
